Chlamydia and Gonorrhea

I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about 2 weeks ago, and me and my boyfriend both took antibiotics for it. The same day I was told to get blood work done for Gonorrhea and HIV. Today I recieved a call from the doctors office and I was asked to see the doctor regarding my test results. I've heard that often people who have chlamydia also have gonorrhea. I'm terrified even thinking about HIV. Is the chances of it being gonorrhea alot more then it being HIV?

It is common to get both chlamydia and gonorrhea at the same time. I don't like saying usually because there are many cases where it is just the one std and not both.  To me it sounds misleading.  Did they not test you for chlamydia?  Usually, gonorrhea testing goes along with it.  I am not going to give you false hope.  That would not be right.  I really hope that they called in to tell you you were negative for both.  Usually, they will not tell you results over the phone to ensure privacy.

I got tested for chlamydia..and was positive. so i was given antibiotics for it. when i was positive he told me to go to the lab and also get checked for HIV and gonorrhea..as a standard procedure. I asked them when I will get results and they said in 2 weeks, which would be around this time. Now they have called me to go in, because he'd like to speak to me. They usually don't call me if everything is okay, but I've never done this kind of test before, so maybe they do. If its gonorrhea it can also be treated with medication so if i do have it, atleast im relieved that it can go away. Im terrified of HIV, i know the chances are alot less, but that's my biggest worry.

Yes, it is a huge worry.  I wish I could ease your fears, but it is a reality we all face when we get tested.  HIV cannot be cured, but it is much more manageable than it used to be.  Good luck.

Very Confused...I went to the std clinic on 5/5/2010 and I got tested for everything...the peliminary tests came back negative on 5/5/2010. Chlamydia test negative...gonorrhea test negative...that's what the nurse told me. So on 5/12/2010 I had to call in to get all my results so the nurse told me everything was negative except my chlamydia test she told me I tested postive for chlamydia. They told me to come in and get treatment so I did and I took my partner with me also. This is the really confusing part my partner and I have been having sex unprotected for about 5 weeks now and he called for his results today and everything came back negative. WTF how is this possible..so he is walking around thinking he is clear...very confused because I just started back begin sexual active been practicing abstinence for almost a year. I am the type of person that get her annually checks up every year and everything always come back fine with my gyn never tested positive for anytype of std. My partner does not have chlamydia but I do this has to be a big mistake because I have not sleep with anyone in about a year until 5 weeks ago...so confused could this be something else? waiting on my gyn to call me because I do believe it has been a big mix up at the clinic.
