5 week sorethroat

I started to feel irritation in the throat 4 weeks ago, the doctor told me there where no white spots and it was only irritated due the season.
4 weeks after i still have the same symptoms: irritation, barely pain when drinking water, no fever, i feel it more irritated in the morning...
My question is:
A) I already turn on the gas heating at home , can this cause my conditon?
B) i smoke, can this also be a cause?
What can i do to heal my throat?

Smoking cigarettes or exposure to cigarette smoke can trigger persistent sore throats. It has been a natural occurrence to have sore throats every year when it gets cold. This happens in the mornings. Try to stop smoking for a while and start gargling with warm salt water.
