This white blood cell count would not be classed as dangerously low, although it is low it is low within normal range.
The normal range varies greatly between 4,300 - 10,800
So as you can see yours is rather low but still within normal range at the moment, if it did continue to fall however, then this is when it could become a problem to your health.
I'm guessing this is something you have discussed with your doctor?

nope, anywhere from 4000-11000 is considered normal range.
No, I have a Manual of Laboratory Diagnostic Tests, second edition by Frances Fischbach that defines leukopenia (low white blood cell count) as under 4,000. My doctor's nurse informs me that their lab has a low end of normal that's even lower than that! But I think under 4,000 if you normally were running higher is a cause for further investigation!
