What could this be?

It started out as a cough here and there due to a "Tickel" in my throat,  I then had some light iritation in my throat and I looked in the mirror and had white looking "Tonsil Stones" on both sides and the tonsils were red. I went to the doctors and they did a strep test and it was neg, then they gave me antibiotics for "Tonsilititis" after a few days of taking them I started to feel better and the white stones were gone. Then slowly the feeling of Mucus started forming in my upper chest. I have a cough that only comes on when my throat needs to be cleared. Sometimes the cough is productive sometimes it is not, when it is the mucus is "clear" not yellow or green. Also when I breath out all the way it makes a gurgling soung sometimes after i cough it wont make the girgle/weezing sound. Now my nose and ears are stuffy, when I blow my nose it clears both my ears and nose and mucus or fluid is still clear. It has been about 21/2 weeks from when i first seen the doctor for the tonsils and about 2 weeks in to this mucus thing.  What do you think this is? do you think it will go away on its own? What should I do? I have tried Mucuinex and a few other things and it really doesnt seem to help.

Thanks

this may sound strange, but do you have reflux?  not all reflux causes pain and burning and often times it can present as a tickle in the throat, dry cough or even throat clearing.  Just a thought - you might want to discuss it with your family doc  as a possibility.
