What has gotten into my body?

This is day 9 of  having flu like symptoms - during this time I have had severe headache, fever, dizziness, body aches everywhere, vomiting, diarrhea, night sweats, chills, weakness.  The Dr. said it is the Crud and gave me a shot of concentrated Ibuprofen and Promethazine 25 mg to treat the symptoms.  They did nothing to help.  Aspirin would bring my temperature down form 104 to 102.  On Day 7 I began to get better with a temperature of only 101 and less headache.

I don't believe this is the Crud.  I have no congestion, sore throat or coughing.

I would still like to know what I have!  I have never been this sick before.  I am 62.

Thank you again for your advice!

I didn't get better and went to another doctor who admitted me to the hospital. After 4 days in the hospital, CBC, CAT Scan & Spinal Tap, it was confirmed I have Lyme Disease complicated with a co-infection Ehrlichiosis. Very Nasty stuff. I'm still sick and waiting for the Doxycycline to kill these "bugs" that have gotten into my body.

CHECK FOR TICKS!!!

I didn't have the typical Lyme Disease symptoms and I don't remember being bitten by a tick.

It is possible that you are fighting off a virus or bacterial infection.  I would ask your doctor to run a CBC to check for an elevated white count.  See a different doctor for a second opinion.  Your doctor sounds like he just doesnt want to deal with it.  You really need to see a doctor due to your high fever.  I hope you feel better soon.
