When is a cold more than a cold

by fivesplenty, Feb 04, 2009 06:44AM
I have had an ongoing mucousy sounding cough(sometimes severe but not coughing up anything), congestion and nasal drip since October.  I have allergies(airborne) so I related it to that and it seems to come and go but mostly I have had it since October. When it is at its worst and I can't stop coughing.  I can taste a metallic irony taste like blood and it was alarming at first but have not seen any redness or blood to anything that I have purposely coughed up to look.  I am blowing my nose constantly and seems non-ending.  It seem to gather at night and I have to blow my nose for a long time in morning to clear it(mucous is mostly clear). Is this a sinus infection or a lung infection of some sort, or is it just related to my dust and airborne allergies?  Will taking allergy shot help since I haven't found a successful allergy medicine to stop it.?
