flu/cold symptoms for 8 weeks

I'm 30 yrs old, I initially got sicksick 8 weeks ago (flu). I was sick for 2 weeks & felt normal for 1-2 weeks. I then developed what I thought was just a cold (stuffy/runny nose) but it completely wiped my energy out. After 2 weeks of sinus issues & horrible fatigue I finally broke down & saw my dr. He said he didn't think I had an infection because everything looked good but thought there was something underlying to cause the fatigue so he put me on amoxicillin 500mg 3xday. I was on it a week then I had a day where I felt completely normal again. I woke up the next day with stuffy/runny nose, sore throat, aches & fatigue again! I am not pregnant so I know it couldn't be that. This is my 1st winter as an EMT running w/a co that services long-term care facilities. I did have a flu shot back in the fall. I don't know if I should blame the job & muddle on or go back to the doc. All I know is this is not normal for me & I am DESPERATE to get rid of the joint aches & fatigue that I will do anything to feel better. Any suggestions?

My suggestion is to go out and buy a good multi vitamin that contains high levels of vit.B's, camu camu for vit C and a bottle of acidophilus. If you still have congestion you could try taking Respiractin or marshmallow in capsule form. These are my standbys and they do work. Amoxicillin doesn't only kill germs it also destroys gut bacteria too and taking the acidophilus will help to replenish your gut's natural bacterial levels.

What I have suggested is rather expensive esp. camu camu and Respiractin. If you can handle regular Vit C, buy an ester C product. It will stay in your blood longer than regular vit. C. Marshmallow works well too, costs less and  it will help your lungs and other smooth tissue but it will not kill germs.

Your immune system needs building up and what I have suggested will help to do that for you.
