5 yr. old sick

My 5 yr. old has been running a fever on and off all day today, I just took her temp and it was 103.4 and her heart is racing. She has been laying on the couch pretty much all day, we have been pushing fluids and trying food which she has been pretty good. But she is just acting different cant sit up for even a couple of minutes, complains of her hands and her legs hurting, and it seems she is confused because she is always looking around. I very concerned because she is 5 yr.old but not sure if I should take her to the Emergency Room. Also I just gave her some Childrens Tylenol to bring down the temp.

If your child has a fever that high, you need to talk to a doctor. Esp with her seeming confused.

My advice would be to alternate between Childrens tylenol and Motrin. I would also give her Pedialyte for dehydration. If the fever doesn't come down in a few hours, then the emergency room is your next best bet!
