Diarrhea

I have had painful diarrhea for 5 days now. My mother had it before me and she said her problems lasted for over a week. I only saw my mom for a couple of hours before getting sick. Could I have contracted this from her? What should I do to help the pain and to stop going to the bathroom, so that I am bale to go to work? The stool is a blackish grey color, and it has lots of water with it. It almost comes out like black flakes in the water. The pain is very harsh and i I go to the bathroom up to 40 times a day. I am drinking lots of water and trying to eat but I have no desire to eat or drink fluids.
What could be causing this? and could I have gotten this from my mom?

You need to see your doctor sometimes when our food doesnt digest right or too fast it can turn into that but also parasites causes this too see your local doctor dnt wait too late and when you do have diarrhea drink plenty of fluids because you can get dehydrated from this hope it helps please see your doctor ok.

when we all had it it lasted for a week, doctor told me to stop gulping water and just sip tiny bits, you should also starve yourself you are just feeding the bug it will stay with youlonger, try not to eat anything for at least seven hours then try something light like a piece of toast or a dry biscuit, hope this helps and you feel better soon
