Do my symptoms indicate a common flu or something else?

(I'm not sure if this information is helpful, but I had quite a lot of mucus blocking my throat while I was asleep that I had to wake up 4~6 times to get it out at the night before all these happened. The consistency was thinner than that of the mucus I usually encounter, but slightly thicker than water.)

A few days ago, I got a slightly runny nose and teary eye only on the right side of my face. After a while, maybe 3~4 days, it died down but my throat felt very dry. I didn't think much of it but soon after, maybe after around 1~2 days, the left side of my face started showing the symptoms that were only visible on my right side previously, with a few extras. My nose became very runny, the consistency of the supposedly mucus is very thin, almost like water. Then my eye started swelling. It wasn't that bad, but when I woke up this morning, you can clearly see the difference. My left eyelid is red and tender, and it looks like as if the size of my left eye became half that of my right eye due to the swelling. My throat also still feels very dry.

I agree, sounds like allergies.
When my allergies act up due to the time of year, I take an allergy pill but I also try to avoid foods that cause allergies(just do a search on the internet what foods to avoid) until the histamine is under control.  Then I add the foods back to my diet again.
I hope this is of some help for you.

It sounds like you have allergies. I've been experiencing the same thing,  except my mucus has blood spots. Try taking some allergy meds.
