someone please help me

I'm a 25 yr old male in good health, last sunday night I started having really bad aches and running a mild fever, 100.0, I went to sleep that night and woke up with the chills and shakes with a fever of 103.8, I keep alternating tylenol and ibuprofen to try and break it, the next day all day long it was at 101.0, and then later on in the evening it got to 104.0, I had the chills and shakes real bad and started to sweat for about an hour and it came down to 99.0, went to bed and woke up in the middle of the night again, sweating REALLY BAD, I was soaking wet from sweat, and I checked my temp bc I felt good after I woke up from sweating and it was at 98.0, so i thought it was over, went back to sleep and woke up in the morning with a fever of 102.7, and its been between 101 and 102.8 all day.  Does this sound like the flu?  Why does it keep coming back after I sweat and break it? How long does this last? Can I alternate Ibuprofen and tylenol every 4 hours without damaging my kidneys, liver, or heart? I dont know how else to keep the fever down.  It seems to get worse in the evenings, and REALLY bad at night time.  Please help

Your body is heating up to kill the temperature vulnerable virus. That is why you feel better after the sweat. When you lay down to sleep your body can now devote its energies to the fever process. I’d stick with the least toxic of the 2 pain killers, Motrin and see your doctor as many illnesses may start out with flue like symptoms

I'm sure by now you are feeling better.

When ever I start to feel like I could be getting the flu, feeling a little tired but NO other symptoms, I'll have a hot bath to educe sweating to mimic a fever.  Then a few cups of green tea as it is proven a bit of an antiviral.

I hope by now you are feeling well!

ok First it sounds like you may have the flu but if the with the fevers persisting like that you should see a doctor

You can alternate Tylenol and Motrin every four hours take the Tylenol say at noon, then Motrin at 4pm then Tylenol again at 8 pm I've seen the hospital do this for children with high temps. But as Muncy said do be careful not to take it for to many days again with a fever that keeps persisting you really need to see a doctor

It is dangerous for the baby to get temps that high, and there will keep going and cause seizures just like Muncy said if you notice the baby getting sick at all get him in to see the dr

Also any time you are running a fever you are most likely contagious

Also I would have to say that it is very dangerous for a baby to be running a temperature. high temps in children can put them into seizures people make sure you are watching it and if it does not subside contact your child health care provider to been seen.

I have to say DO NOT take to much Tylenol!! Please this is very dangerous, so many people do not realize how bad it affects your liver. If you take to much of this medication then you can go into liver failure. You also need to watch other medications that say acetaminophen because this is another form of the same medication and a lot of other medications contain it. Since this has been going on  for so long my best recommendation is to call your health care provider. It is hard telling what it could be because a lot of other things can affect the temperature. Is there anything else going on besides the sweating and temp changes?

i also have a 4month old baby in the house, and Im soooooo scared of getting him sick, that would be horrible but i dont know if its to late, he is acting fussy (he does that though at times could be normal), and my fiance is saying that she is starting to feel a little bad.  could they get it and i get better and then i get it again and they get better and they get it again.....etc.?  How dangerous is it for a 4 month old to contract this type of illness?
