For people who come to me saying they have more than 3 weeks of one side of their face tender in a sinus, with pain that shoots to the teeth, I often examine them and find a sinus infection. For symptoms that are less in duration, sometimes I do as well, it depends on the exam and other co-morbidities such as allergies or past history of sinusitis. If it's getting worse, it's worth seeing your doctor.
Thank you for the information. Do you think it could be sinus problems and do you think I need to go to a doctor? I forgot to tell you it has been over 2 weeks since it first started.
Thanks for any help you can give me on this.
Viral infections can cause all of the symptoms you're experiencing, and how we differentiate a bacterial from a viral infection is by how you're doing. Getting better? good. Getting worse? not good, get checked by a doctor. Viral infections don't usually last more than a week and a half, but the cough can stay for a while.
