Question about congestion

I have been type 1 Diabetic for over 26 years without any difficulty. Recently I'd say within the past year I have had constant congestion and when I cough I have massive mucous that comes out. When I lay down at night I tend to always have a stuffy nose and coughing phlegm. I usually have a runny nose throughout the day and its becoming very aggravating. What in the world do I do to get rid of this aggravation?

kaysav05 is right, a year of congestion's not normal, and could be allergies.  Allergy skin testing is very helpful to tell.

Mycousin has that same problem, she finally went to Dr., the diabetic Dr. did a allergy test and turns out that with diabeties you can develope allergies, almost overnight. Better get ya some allergy meds or get into the Dr.
Good Luck, I hope I helped.
