In April I was diagnosed with patchy erythema consistant with mild gastritis of the stomach after a upper endoscopy and biopsies for histology were performed. A small hiatus hernia was also present. Duodenum was normal to D3 ( whatever that means )
I was prescribed Losec for 3 months for which I am 6 weeks into the course.
As a precursor to this I was under extreme stress and anxiety for a diagnosed SCC cancer on the back of my hand in January and it wasn't cut out and told I was clear until mid March. During this time I was convinced that the cancer had a chance to spread. So the doctor after receiving my results basically said the gastritis was due to the anxiety I had put myself through.
The symptoms I had were a active stomach ( gurgling gassy sounds and feelings ) that seemed to go right down to my loweer intestines and bowel. I felt like I had a slightly bloated stomach, without being actually visible, but I wasn't getting any real pain from them.
I still get these symptoms, maybe not quiet as much but I would be expecting that they would be starting to clear up by now? Is this a reasonable assumption? Another thing that I have been feeling for the last week is dull uncomfortable feeling under my lower back ribs that is more noticable when I'm standing, and not really all the time either. Don't know wether this is attributed to the gastritis or a muscular problem. I go to the gym about once or twice a week and I have been having shoulder soreness for about 9-12 months which was diagnosed as tendonitis after a ultrasound.
I'm not saying the endoscopy diagnoses was wrong, as it certainly allayed my fears to a spreading cancer, but could the symptoms I described be my system recovering from the stress and anxiety or does my stomach need more time to recover from the gastritis, taking into consideration it was only mild gastitis?
Thanks in advance for your time and comments.
