My 8yr old has had diarrea(diarrhea) for 5 yrs with awful odor.

Hi my 8 year old son has had diarrea (diarrhea) for 5 years with an awful decomp/sweage odor...The doctors say they cant find anything wrong with him. He has had all types of allergy tests, i have cut out all different types of food at some point and nothin helps. he is constantly bloated and hurting. he has MAJOR diarrea (diarrhea) every day. he is having to wear pull ups again, as he seems to have no control over his bowel movements. I dont know what else to do? any suggestions.

Hi,
Chronic diarrhea if assocaited with weightloss or nutrient deficiency could be due to malabsorption syndrome. The list of causes of malabsorption is quite long.
Evaluation of malabsorption is exhaustive and it is ideal to have it done in a tertiary care center.
