Wats my dad suffering frm?

My father, a 52 year old Indian is suffering from high fever and diarrohea for about two months. All antibiotics proved to be failed to treat and then we took a CT scan. It was reported that there is a wall thickening of ileum and cecum. Then he undergone colonoscopy test with the indication that "MULTIPLE LARGE ULCERS SEEN IN TERMINAL ILEUM AND CECUM"  and biopsy was taken and sent for test. Dr told us that he suspects it to be TB but he will start the medication only after confirmation from the biopsy. In biopsy result, it said that there are ulcers and PCR test is recommended to rule out abdominal TB. The result will come after five days. Dr said that he is suspecting TB, but if it is ruled out in PCR, then it should be Chron's disease. But now he has started medication of ACRUIT-4, anti TB tablet which should be taken in empty stomach(4 at a time). It has been 4 days now but my dad is getting worse. Fever, loose motion, vomiting, loss of apetite continues and we are much worried with his pathetic situation. This GE Dr we are consulting is a much popular specialist. What is he actually suffering from? We are afraid as we have suspects of cancer. Please clear us and tell us the possibility of condition he is having and the respective treatment. How much days will take for the medicine to react? Pls this is very urgent!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Your Dad's doctor is evaluating his problem in the rightway.
Ulcers in the ileocecal region could be either ileocecal TB or Crohn's disease. A biopsy would be helpful most of the times. The endoscopy findings along with biopsy findings would be able to clinch the diagnosis. Since significant fever is there, the first possibility is TB. I feel his doctor is right is starting treatment for TB
