discomfort middle to right side of stomach

For the past 4 months I have had a discomfort in the upper right side of my body. I somtimes get a sick feeling and kinda sweaty when I get the attack nothing really triggers it just happens at different times .I had gallebladder surgery 12 years ago.Just had a CT scan showed nothing . Had blood test in December for a cough that I had which went away. The blood test showed nothing. Gyncologist found nothing. GI doctor wants to do a Colonoscopy. I do not have a problem with my bowels . Just this very strange feeling in my stomach like something is twisted or torn and a sick feeling. What should I be looking for?

Thank you for answering my question. No I am not a diabetic. Gall bladder was removed because I had a stone. Pain is gone now just the queasy feeling . Coughing or straining does not increase it . After eating I still feel the queasy feeling. It is not radiating now . I have had a littel feeling in my back.
Not sure why it comes and goes and what triggers it.

Thank you

Hi annamo,
I would like to have a few more details -
1. Why gall bladder was removed?
2. Features of pain including its relation to  food intake, whether it is radiating to any place , whether coughing or straining increase it, how long each episode of pain lasts, any worsening or relieving factor?
3. Whether you are a diabetic?
