Look on the internet for hospitals that offer "Hill-Burton" services in your area. The Hill Burton act mandates that hospitals receiving federal aid treat a certain percentage of their patients without means for free. This excludes emergency care. Different hospitals provide different types of Hill-Burton treatment. Some, for example specialize in infectious diseases and others orthopedics. If you have money and insurance contact your local AMA.
Thank you for your response. Could you refer me to a clinic in the mid area of Illinois (if you would happen to know) or what should I look for this kind of clinic - what would it be called. Thank you.
I hate to say this, but you really have no choice. Often surgical debridement is the only way to contain these infections. And people can die if the infection becomes systemic. They tend to get worse if not treated. There are clinics available that will treat you quite inexpensively if you submit to a means test.
