loose screw of dental implant

I had a dental implant done about 20 yrs. ago, and the screw is loose.  My dentist said that I need
to get my old records.  That is impossible - dr. is long retired & in his mid 70's.  Is it possible for
another dr. to fix it after removing the crown?  Thanks!  Roni

Hi Roni,
Yes this is possible. if you find a dentist who is well versed in dental implantology, they would have access to resources that would help them to find what type of implant is used. Also, at times, you may not even need this and with the xray, you would be able to tell what type it is and what type of drivers are needed to tighten up the screw. If your dentist did not know about this, go visit www.top3dentists.com and look in the Implant dentist section to find someone in your area. If not, request for them to introduce you to one.
