Cluubing of The Fingers

Hi. im a 27yr old male, i first noticed the symptoms of clubbed fingers at the age of 18, it started just with the thumbs nw it has progressed to all digits on both hands and toes, at first i didnt realise what the medical condition was and assumed that it was down to me having 'heavy' hands as i am a serious gym/bodybuilder i am superfit i workout 5 times a since i have been 14yrs of age,i was born with a heart murmur, but have been assured that that is not the cause ? generally the doctors dont seem to bothered or want to investigate forcefuuly i have asked for a chest x-ray and a blood test which has come up fine, is there anything else i can do ? is clubbing reversible through surgical procedure or any other means ?

I am not familiar with successful treatment of clubbed fingers.  Usually if there is an underlying cause that it treated, this may be successful.
