Implant Rejection

Implant Rejection

I had a breast enlargement operation in November with silicone implants. Very unusually my body has rejected both implants. After much oozing of fluid and some holes appearing in my breast, the implants have  been removed after about 6 weeks.

I loved having the larger breasts. I have celiac disease. Could this have caused the rejetcton? Is it possible for me to have any other form of implant without my body rejecting again in the future? I am going to be tested for allergies. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank You

Implants are not truly "rejected."  The cause of your problem sounds more like an infection or a bleed complicating healing after the procedure.  The other complication related to implant problems would be capsule contracture, as a sometime manifestation  of reaction to the implant.  It may be possible to reconsider re-augmentation, but this should wait until at least one year from the date of your original surgery.
