buttocks lift

I was the 70 yr. old inquiring about a buttocks lift. Thank you, Dr. Rosenberg, for informing me about the poor result you have gotten with surgery in the gluteal crease. My consulting doctor is recommending surgery on the upper buttocks. I am too thin and probably too old for liposuction in terms of loss of elasticity of the skin. That was not an option presented to me. How radical is surgery on the upper buttocks? What are the findings with this intervention? Would you still advise me to proceed with caution?

Thank you for your candor. It was most helpful. I hope you will reply to this follow up question.

The upper buttocks incision can provide an effective lift.  It has been primarily used to correct buttocks deficiency as a result of massive weight loss, often as part of a total lower body lift.  In the absence of a direct examination, it would be impossible for me to predict if the results of this procedure will accomplish your goals.  This is an issue that presumably you have addressed and discussed with your surgeon.
