i went to some doctor for my chicken pox raised scars that i've had since i was a child and asked her what i could do about them to reduce or flatten them. she told me that my scars were called keloids (even though mine weren't red or still growing.. they were the same skin color, only raised bumpy scars on my back). so she suggested the cortisone injections to flatten them, in which she ended up doing. my first injection did little to no effect almost. you could barely see anything happened. my second injection, she said she'd use a stronger kind of cortisone so i wouldnt have to go for another few injection sessions. after she did it, two weeks later, i started noticing my scars becoming less bumpy. 4 weeks later, the skin tissue surrounding the scars started thinning and it turned dark in a purplish reddish way. when i showed her what happened, she said she couldn't guarantee that it will go away or what could happen next, and that the best thing to do is not to expose them to the sun or they will become pigmented.
my question is.. is this a side effect? if so, how long does it take to go away, cuz it's been two months now.. and nothing has changed (except that starting peeling off)?
i'm really worried. i dont know what to put on em other than vitamin E.. and praying that they dont ' scar. i don't know what happened to my skin. i feel that they've already been pigmented.
thank you
