upper arm scar

i have a scar on my upper arm from a tattoo removal process and a new tattoo put over the removed one. The scar is raised and the skin texture is uneven. I have been using a product called dermatix , which is a sort of smooth on silicon gel. I have been using it for  about a month and a half and not sure if I am seeing the desired results.

I know I can't have laser treatment done to the scar because of the tattoo over it. Would microderm abrasion treatments help to smooth the skin texture? I am having other parts of the tattoo touched up and if the microderm affects the current tattoo..it is ok, because I can have that fixed by my artist.

In time will the scars flatten to the level of the surround skin? the light has to catch it just right to even see the scars..but i know that they are there and it bothers me.

Microdermabrasion can be used over a tattoo without damaging the pigment, but I doubt it would significantly affect the overlying scar.  I would try either silicone gel sheeting laid over the scar or a compression dressing or wrap (like a firm ace wrap). Pressure therapy definitely helps scars.
