Skin thinning with Retin A

I am confused, as retin A cream is said to cause the skin to thin, and applying the cream is supposed to generate collegen which I though thickened the skin. Could you pleas explain? thank you.

Retin A does not thin the skin.  It does make the skin more sensitive to sun exposure.  When used consistently over a period of time (six to nine months) it does stimulate subdermal collagen formation and therefore reduce wrinkling.

I doubt that Retin A will have any effect on the skin below the brow.  It is ideal for very fine lines like those around the eyes or in the cheeks.

I have used and am using Rentin A in the area just under the brow line to attempt to lift sagging skin there. Am I making things worse, or would I see some tightening there after consistent use of the cream. (1%)
