I had breast implants in August, my surgeon advised a size 240 to 260 giving me a b to c cup, I was a 32 A before surgery. I did everything I was asked to do pre op including filling up gloves with water and placing in my bras to see what size implants I would like. The surgeon asked me to phone his secretary at least 3 days before my surgery to tell her the size of implants I wanted. I did this and asked for 300 fully filled, which would give me a d cup. The surgeon came to see me on the day of my surgery and I told him I had let his secretary know that I wanted 300,  he said that would give me a D cup, wrote it down and said I could have them if his secretary had done her job properly. I came round after surgery and asked the nurse which size implants I had been given, I was told 260. My surgeon came to see me the following morning and infront of my friend and a nurse said he tried the 300 and they looked ridiculous saying the theatre staff laughed and said you cant give her them. He went on to say that if i wasnt happy then he would perform another op for the size I had asked for free of charge after at least 3 months. I was confused by this so when I went for a check up I asked to see the surgeons secretary, she came and saw me and asked to see the paperwork with the size I had asked for. On the paperwork it only had 240 to 260 and when I questioned her she said she would of e-mailed the theatre with the size I had asked for. I am very upset and confused as I do not wish to go through another surgical procedure free of charge. I am wondering if the size of implants were ever in theatre at all. Please can u let me know if I have any rights to complain, I do not wish to get the surgeon into any trouble as he did the procedure very well, but I am not entirely happy with the size. Thankyou.

Thankyou so very much for your speedy reply! Your answer has raised a question being, if there is little difference between 260 and 300cc, how did I look ridiculous when the surgeon said he tried the 300cc (actually they must of been 305cc) as I was told this was the next size for fully filled implants. I am now thinking that the size I requested was never in theatre at all. I am not so sure if I could go ahead with more surgery, I am 41, have two lovely children and a wonderful husband, have just opened a Holistic and Beauty Salon and it would be very hard for me to take time out again. But I still cant help but wonder, after all the information and reccommendations I had before surgery, why was it me that didnt receive the size I had asked for? I feel kind of let down as this procedure, for me, (due to costs, and surgery) was once in a lifetime. I wouldnt dream of a client of mine booking for a full leg wax, and me only performing half a leg because I hadnt ordered enough wax!

The difference between 260 and 300 cc implants is just over one ounce (30 cc is equal to one ounce).  While I can understand your dismay about the discrepancy between what you requested and the size implant placed, the difference is really very small.  If you wish a larger size breast, I suspect a much larger implant would be required for you to see much difference.  If you really desire a larger size, I believe your surgeon is being very fair in re-operating at no charge.  Since the implant pocket is now present, replacing your current implant with a larger size would not be a major procedure.
