I was told by a very condescending colorectal surgeon (after being misdiagnosed by three other health care professionals with hemorrhoids and prescribed medication which my insurance did not cover) that what I had was an anal skin tag. He then told me that an anal skin tag was just scar tissue and that if I had mine surgically removed there was a 100% chance they would just grow right back and probably be bigger than they are now. His expert opinion was to just live with it. I'm looking for a second opinion on that and/or a comment from someone who had one removed and if they in fact do came back 100% of the time.
