Crohn Disease

Is it ok to get the flu shot when on Humira for my Crohns disease.  Also what about the H1N1 shot when that comes out can I take that.  I also have FSHD muscular dystohy.

There is a study that was completed - crohns. You may want to show your doctor this.

There aren't any side effects - it helps your immune system by increasing you natural endorphins.....If your doctor reads the study he could not deny this drug doesn't work for crohns. The study was a success.

To my understanding, it is not only OK to get the flu shot when taking Humira, it is recommended to help protect you against getting sick.  I don't know anything about FSHD muscular dystrophy, though, and don't know if that would be a reason to not get a flu shot.  You should try calling your doctor's office with these questions; a nurse can just give you a simple answer over the phone in only a few minutes, without you having to go into the doctor or anything!
