Prednisone/Trouble Sleeping

Prednisone/Trouble Sleeping

Hi - I've been put on a 60 mg dose of Prednisone for the next two weeks, tapering to 50, then 40 every two weeks, down 10 each week thereafter (if I make it to 10!) - already I'm experiencing trouble sleeping (have been playing on the computer since 3:45 a.m.)!  I am a working person, and can't keep these hours for too long, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice/home remedies to help them sleep while adjusting to this "wonder" drug.

Thank you.

Hi, been there! Try taking them in the morning. I found that helped. Also, my Dr. told me to try melatonin.(find it in the vitamin section) It really does work! Good luck.Hope your feeling better.

Hey there - I've been taking it in the morning, thanks - but had the worst time sleeping last night!  Now I feel all foggy and icky - hoping it goes away, but I can feel the edginess setting in - but hopefully that will go away.  I'm afraid to try to melatonin the other person suggested (have to talk to my doctor first, I guess) so I've been trying tea and warm milk - we'll see - it's only Day 5; maybe it will get better?  It's been so long, I can't remember!  Anyway, thanks - hope you are doing well  :-)
