abnormal stool

Hi. I have always had some trouble digesting just about any kind of foods as long as I can remember. A large percentage of the time I will have mucus-like stringy attachments to the stool as shown in the picture. Other times there are fatty looking bubbles attached. I often get diarrhea but other times feel constipated and my stool is many small hard pebble-sized pieces. I have just assumed that I do not digest things very well and maybe have some sort of condition but no huge problem. But when I saw the amount of mucus or fatty type attachments to the stool today I figured I need to figure out what is really going on inside me. Any ideas? I have always had allergies and asthma but nothing very severe and otherwise pretty healthy. Thank you.
