How did the appointment go? Hope all goes well. Bowel resection is not fun but is not as bad as it may seem. First week is no fun at all. But if you have a great bariatric surgeon and he is able to preform laproscopic surgery you should heal fast. I had bowel resection, my bowel was in a bad shape and I had to have a transfusion after the surgery. However, in 2 weeks I was great. Able to drive and even go back to work. That is why I stress that you research the surgeon. My GI was sending me to one that didn't do lapro, I asked about one that did and ended up with a great surgeon. Best of luck
Thanks! My appt is tomorrow:(
They are telling you to make sure the surgeon is a bariatric surgeon. GI's do not do the surgery.
If you have to have surgery make sure you have a bariatric surgeon and that he is very experienced in doing laproscopic surgery.
Good luck

My gastro did the colonoscopy. What happened in terms of your UC?
Did a gastroentologist do your colonoscopy or was it a surgeon? I had that happen and I have uc but the surgeon didn't know how to do it properly was the problem. Always get a gastro to do it if possible, they know what they are looking at and how to do it with ease.
