Is fingernails determine who the father is?

His fingers could look like whatever they would like to look like.  But it is not possible to compare a newborn's fingers to an adult's fingers and correctly determine paternity on that clue alone.

The DNA test does not depend on how the baby looks, it is pretty definite unless someone fakes their swab.  Go to a reliable lab (one certified by the courts for determining paternity) and you will not have to worry.

If the baby is a newborn, he might or might not look a lot like his father.  I would not use only one particular body cue out of all the parts of his body and try to determine a resemblance.  I noticed that photographs of my husband when he was a baby were very similar in appearance to photographs of my son when he was a baby, but it was harder to see the resemblance in person than in the photographs.  And judging by appearance is not a sure way to know anything unless the two possible fathers look extremely different than another.  Have you arranged for a DNA test yet?

Just curious why you would think that fingernails can prove paternity.

apart from dna test you might be also able to with your and potential blood type?
