Prenatal DNA Test.

I'd like to get 1 just to be 100% positive. I looked up how much a drugstore DNA test is, & being in the position I'm in, I can't really afford to pay for that. It's not expensive, but still. I looked up how the prenatal would work, & it said that doing it could affect me & the baby. Has anyone ever tried this?

How far along are you? You could get a free DNA test from Paternity Court even while you are pregnant. (404) 458-1531 is a direct number to them, it's worth a try.

Luckily, you don't have to wait forever now, to get the DNA test.

It's only between 2 men, so yeah it narrows it down to 1 more than the other since I was w/ him way more often. I just want to be sure, that's all.

Hmm.  Unfortunately an ultrasound in your 24th week is not going to narrow the date too much; conception would be estimated in a pretty wide bracket, in other words, the 9th of February +/- two weeks.  If the time period of conception is late January through late February, does that rule anyone out?

@AnnieBrooke When I had my ultrasound is the same day I found out. I was 24 wks & 1 day. They told me that the due date would be about November 2nd & that I probably conceived around February. I told them my last menstrual was in May, but unfortunately I didn't track it when it came. There's a 99% chance the man I'm thinking of is the father.

Miss_Courtney, when you had your first ultrasound, how early was that in the pregnancy?  Did they give you a due date then?  If so, maybe we can figure out something about paternity by the dates.

@Juju_bae305 yeah, I saw that. I guess I can wait. So... what if I talk to the man I think it is, & he's not the father? I just don't wanna tell him, & it's not true.

I wanted to do that when j was pregnant to and my dr said wait cause it can cause a misscarage or hurt the baby. The prenatle DNA only goes until 20 weeks so only option is the swabbing and after your baby is born, but you can go to a drug store and get it.. Or go on Maury you get free DNA ;) lol jk but deff talk to the guy you think it is! And to the other comment you shouldn't judge her situation like that.

@mwinder I need to have the baby 1st anyway, for that to even be possible. For now, I just wanna know if the man I have in mind is the father. That's my main concern @ the moment.

@WaitingForOct The thing about that is, I haven't yet told the man who I think is the father. Idk how he would react to me telling him that I want a DNA sample/test.

If you can, just wait until after the baby is born and you can do it through a mouth swab. Much safer and cheaper. I believe any hospital can do it for you after delivery and have results pretty quick.

Yeah, you're right. I hope I can get some type of income within the next few months to buy a test.
