Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my question.  I have depression and anxiety aalong with BPD and worked very hard with my doctor to find a med combo that would work for me.  We finally settled on Lexapro 40 mgs. and Seroquel 300 mgs a day.  I was doing great on this plan until January the first when medicaid in my state changed their formulary and will no longer pay for either of these drugs.  Now I am on 60mgs of Celexa a day and my anxiety is through the roof.  I cannot even function.  Hot flashes, can't breathe, wild thoughts, the whole shebang.  Lately I have been taking a .5 mg tab of Ativan every morning and this is enough to help me get things under control and function for the day.  My question is this: is this low dose of Ativan still addictive?  Or does it have enough time to clear the body?

Thanks,
Lisa

If you stay at that low dose, you will be fine.  The Celexa itself sometimes acts as a stimulant to make your anxiety worse...you might ask your doctor to try another antidepressant, even prozac, which works and does not cause weight gain.

dont know about the low dose i think all ativan is addictive. i have been on it for 25 years for anxiety i suggest paxil it works well but the side effects suck.  if you can handle weight gain and i mean alot got for it.
