Celexa and diet pills

Celexa and diet pills

I am taking celexa (40mg a day), is it ok to take diet pills while taking the celexa?  If so, what can I take.  Please don't tell me to just "watch what I eat and to be more active", I am a very active woman with three small children and I have a low calorie intake a day. Since I've been on the celexa I have gained about 10lbs, I eat less, but I can't get it off.
Thank you.

There is no particular contraindication of using diet pills and celexa.  When you talk  to your doctor about this, be sure and take a low dose, and be wary of the fact that diet pills are stimulants that can cause other problems in sensitive people or at high doses.

Hi---

While I haven't had weight gain with Celexa (that I notice), I do take both Adderall (adderrall) and Provigil with it, both of which help with appetite. Neither medication has caused problems combined with Celexa.

I've taken Celexa with Provigil alone, with Adderall (adderrall) alone, and currently am taking Celexa with Adderall (adderrall) and Provigil both. The Provigil was added to treat sedation; later on my psychiatrist felt that Adderall (adderrall) would be preferable to Provigil because it would treat mild attention problems as well as sedation. (I did find Adderall (adderrall) to be a bit better for attention. However, this is more a concern of my doctor's than of mine! Whatever attention problems I have are mild.)

I haven't taken an out-and-out diet medication such as phentermine with Celexa.
