Do I have a major problem?

Hello,

I have a ton of work to do, and I tell myself I'm going to sit down and do it, but then I spend the next 16 hours sitting on the computer surfing the internet and watching movies. Sometimes I'll stay up for 30 hours straight and not get anything accomplished but just mess around the whole time. Sometimes I'll sleep for 15.

The thing is it's not like putting stuff off frees me up to do other things, because I just sit here and worry about what I have to do, yet I can't seem to do it. I've always procrastinated, but it seems to be getting worse. I'm also having problems being social. I barely leave my apartment, and when I do (to go get food or something), I'll stand by the front door looking out the peephole wondering when the best time to leave is. Not sure what I'm afraid of. I feel like if someone sees me they'll know I'm weird or something. I don't know I can't explain it.

I avoid calls from friends, but I want to talk to them. I just have nothing to talk about because I don’t do anything. I have no self-esteem. I don't feel worthy of anyone and sometimes wonder why friends and family like me and keep coming around. I'm 30 and have never had a girlfriend.

I eat way too much. I'll just keep eating until I can't anymore. I'm not even hungry I just eat. It really feels like someone else is controlling what I do, because I obviously have no control.

Sorry if this is long and doesn't make sense, I'm just trying to think of everything that I'm concerned about. I'm sure I missed some things. I never go to the doctor, and don't have insurance or much money so not sure what I should do. I'm sure my family would help me but I'm too embarrassed.

I think my mom has some similar problems I do. She mentioned getting some medication for anxiety. She worries about everything and it has definitely rubbed off on me. Oh yeah that's another thing, I worry about EVERYTHING.

Please help, thanks.

Surfing the 'net can be very addictive; I do it a lot but I never let my housework or other responsibilities go.  Moderation -- you can do it.  And let's face it - the internet is fascinating and you can learn a lot!  (By the way, where I am it is now 2:34 a.m. :)  However, my chores for the day are done.

(Counter Therapy)

Based on Mr. Hei Xi’s more than 10 years’ research findings and experiences gained from the treatment process, he came up with his own so-called Easten or Natural Therapy. For instance, the treatment of Social Phobia, which includes 2 principles:

“ Principle 1:
The correction of low self-esteem (inferiority complex), and the build-up of self-confidence, namely “total acceptance of yourself”, In Eastern Philosophy Therapy, it is called “Original Form” or “to do nothing”, it is the root-removing principle.

Principle 2:
Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Desensitization Therapy and NLP etc. A large amount of social practice can quickly remove the symptoms. It is symptom-removing principle.”

“The difference between eastern therapy and western therapy is like the difference between Chinese medication and western medication.”
