Earlier I posted, may be, on the wrong forum -so i would post again. Sorry for duplication.
About couple of years ago, some researchers had found what was termed "fear gene" -namely GRH and Stathmin which were related to innate and learned fears. Does anyone know what is the status of their studies, meaning -how does all these gene finding help a lay-person who is "exessively" fearful/panicky/phobic?
Also an antibiotic for tuburculosis (DCS - D-cycloserine) was being researched for this purpose. It was found to be very helpful in conjuction with exposure therapy for fear extinction. It was thought to be very helpful in variety of anxiety/panic/phobia related issues. Any word on that -if anyone knows?
