I would try to stay on the course that you and your doctor have agreed upon. The problem you are having is that you are also anxious, and that is manifested in your acute awareness of physical symptoms and worry about illness. The only way I know of getting rid of that preoccupation is to translate the anxiety symptoms into real problems and real decisions, and then deal with them. That often requires psychotherapy. You might want to see a therapist or jump start this translation by using the mastering stress program above.
Environmental polution and what you put in your mouth are the reason you have good days and bad. You need to go to Barnes and Nobles and get a book By Dr. Hulda Regher Clark called The Cure For All Diseases. You will be amazed at the things that we pollute our selves with and don't even know.
Jeanette,
I've just read some of your older posts and it might be worth checking out whether you might have Borderline Personality Disorder, some of the symptoms are exactly what you describe: identity ambivalence that only comes out in your romantic life, sudden mood swings, identity conflict, odd physical pains, fear of losing someone you love, etc. It is often confused with depression or bipolar illness, but the treatment strategies are a bit different.
There is hope, and there is treatment and online support for you!!
Please check out these sites for more information, although you really need to be seeing a well-trained mental health professional to get a correct diagnosis:

mhsanctuary has a message board for BPDs where you can post your questions to see whether anything rings a bell. Sounds like you've been searching for answers for a long time, so this certainly can't hurt.
Best of luck,
