Numbness on the left side of the face and blurred eye sight.

For the last few years I have been experiencing numbness that starts at my eye on the left side of my face and it extends down. Just over the past few months my vision seems to be  little foggy or fuzzy. Bright light seems to make it worse. I have numbness in fingers when my elbows are bent or when sleeping. This seems to come and go. I had  mri two years ago which came back normal. I have had anxiety in the past and been under extreme stress years ago. The first signs of all the above conditions seemed to follow heavy alcohol use. I used to get burning sensations through out my body and still sometimes in my face. I took steroids ( for inflammation ) to try and relieve symptoms but it did not help. Any advice. My doctor is stumped and seemed to basically give up on me.

There's a strong possibility that this is caused by anxiety because of the distribution of the pain and the fact that you've had a negative test.  You and your doctor might also consider alcoholic neuritis if there has been a large degree of alcohol consumption recently and chronically.

Have you ever gone to a chiropractor? All our nerves are connected to our spinal column. If your back or neck are miss aligned the bones will put pressure on your nerves and cause all kinds of problems. Just a thought as I am not a Dr., but a firm believer in my chiropractic care.

Did you take any anti anxiety meds or anti depressants? I have the exact same symptoms as you, with some others. After dozens of tests over the period of a year, I think it's a side effect and withdrawal symptoms of these horrible drugs.
