One delusion

Hi.  I am 21 and I was diagnoised at 16 with schizophrenia after 6 months of heavy drug use.  My first delusion was that everyone could hear my thoughts.  It was with me 24/7.  Well at 17 I was put on Serequel.  It has been a maricle for me.  I have had many delusions ( i was possesed, actors were in love with me ect).  Well all of them have gone away.  I havent heard a voice in at leat 2 years.  BUT the delusion of people hearing my thoughts havent gone away.  Not even a little bit.  It is with me 24/7 and has been since I was 16.  I guess my question is this Is it normal for one delusion to stay with you even when all other signs of schizophrenia are gone?  Why do I have this delusion?  thank you.  You can email me at ***@****

I'm not sure that is it.  Most of the time I want them to hear my thoughts.  Like a lot of the time I dont say things out loud because I assume they can hear me thinking it.  Its just that the delusion wont stop no matter what Im thinking.  I dont really think "bad" thoughts.

The delusion of people hearing your thoughts is often connected with that part of you that is ashamed of your own thoughts. You might try working on this with your therapist. There is no reason to be ashamed of your own thoughts..they are just the natural internal flow and chatter of the brain. You can observe them, but don't judge them.  If you can follow up on this advice, and work on this, you may be able to silence this last delusion.
