Pain that is random/ no Dx/conversion disorder or bulimia recovery?

i am 29.i take lithium, tegretol, and trazodone.i live at home hecause i can't work b/c of SEVERE depression. no medications help me-- in fact i cannot take many of the ones i used to b/c of side effects now-- esp. anti-psychotics. i have been diagnosed w/ bi-polar 2 and possibly borderline personality disorder and perhaps schizoaffective disorder. :P well, i have been a recovered bulimic for 7 months. i was bulimic for 13 years-- vomiting. since then, my health has fallen apart. my hip hurts (tests normal), then i thought my gall bladder/liver was messed up b/c of pain (tests normal), low grade temp. all the time (99.3- 99.8-- TESTS NORMAL), but i still hurt-- all the time... the pain jumps from place to place. this morning i woke up w/ my left collar bone hurting and left hand-- my MEMORY IS SHOT. i am a college graduate and cannot read books anymore b/c they just don't make sense to me.  Ok-- MY QUESTION--  my docs say there is nothing physically wrong w/ me-- but i HURT. Could this be a result of the bulimia going away??? If so, who do i see? the only specialist i have not seen is a neurologist-- should i go there? i have had the term "fibromyalgia" tossed my way, but my MD wouldn't write it in my chart-- LONG EXPLANATION. i am very depressed.  i have a psychiatrist--- but WHO CAN HELP ME??? my gp said it might be somatization disorder or conversion disorder!! ARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! HELP! i KNOW BULIMIA CAN MESS YOU UP.  HAVE YOU SEEN THIS IN RECOVERED BUILMICS???

Ok, I guess this pain is normal... I am recovering from about a year of bulimia and I keep waking up in pain. Have you ever gotten severe hunger pains? I can hardly function sometimes from stomach pain so now my legs and other pains seem irrelevant. I was curious if you had found a way to deal with any pains like this- so easy to relapse when you eat and gain...
Other than that, I recommend seeing a dietician. I'm doing that soon as well as getting a trainer... I may have stopped purging but my weight obsession will nevver  go away as long as the rest of my family drops like flies from obesity.

I've been in your shoes where nothing worked. I was diagnosed with treatment resistant depression and tried everything on the market. They ALL made me anorexic and gave me amnesia. I even ended up in the hospital with a 35/35 bp...the er dr. said he'd had cadavers in there with more electrolytes than I had. I'm concerned that I have not found a doctor on this site that recommends REMERON for anti-depressant. It is similar to an SSRI, but not exactly. It will help you sleep and eat in larger doses. Also, I'm amazed that Dr's are recommending REMERON for panic attacks...that dumbfounds me due to it's side effects.

Hope this helps, if not, you might find another Dr. or check out one of the universities studies they have on-going for depression and other illnesses. It's free...just go online to the teaching univ. closest to you or maybe WebMD has listings.

Good luck...you WILL get better.

Yes, bulimia can mess you up; the cure is very good nutrition and exercise so your muscles are strengthen, and your pain goes away. That is something you can do for yourself.

YOur life is not moving forward according to your description. You are stuck..and not getting enough personal satisfaction and gratification.  That's where you have to focus your efforts. See your psychiatrist as a guide and sounding board, rather than a diagnosis machine or pill dispenser.  Work on your life, not your diagnosis.  That's the way out  of this.

You can try the MasteringStress program above to get you started in an honest conversation with yourself, and developing a plan to do this. YOu can do it from home inexpensively.
