Lexapro Problems!

I was on Lexapro 10mg/ml once a day for a year. Then My doctor and I decided I could slow down and take the same amount every other day and then I decided to make my own plan without going to the doctor and went to 5mg/ml everyother day and then decided to quit COLD TURKER. Every since I started the 5mg/ml every other day I started having really bad thoughts about stuff i have never wanted to think about before (ex: ex boyfriends that ruined my life and i have an amazing boyfriend now who i love), i have been really ocd, shaky, dizzy, dont want to sleep as much as I used to sleep and have bad rls at night time and while in bed. Is this due to withdraws from Lexapro? All together I was on Lexapro for almost two years so my body is used to the medication and I havent been on it in about a month.

Your response is quite typical....the physical symptoms may last another two weeks, re the thoughts, maybe instead of trying to rid yourself of them, use them as information and try to understand what you have  been suppressing and why, that is what will liberate you...a short term therapy might be a good investment right now.

If you take Lexapro/Cipralex for even 3 months and stop cold turkey, can the  same thing happen.  I actually didn't realize I was getting mad at cousins that upset me 20 years ago.  They probably think I'm nuts.  They were things that have been bothering me for a long time.  My Uncle came on to my Mother and I had to keep it away from my cousins and let that out too, and on email to make it worse.  They are angry at me now.  I realize I held in that and more and let them have a nice life with their pervert father while I had to sit with him during family gatherings and carry this burden so my annoying aunt wouldn't get hurt and upset.  I now can see the Lexapro made me do it, but the feelings were real.  The relationships are severed now cause they are upset that they know this!   I'm confused and have lost my cousins.
