What are the symptoms of a heartattack?

This morning I thought I was having a heart attack. I couldn't move my arms, turn, or bend with out a lot of pain. I really started getting scared. I took 2 tynols and an hour latter 1 asprin, then I remembered what they gave me for indigestion so I took that. I finally called my daugther and she drove me up to the hospital, only for me to decide not to go. My reason being that I was just in the emergency room about a month ago with chest pains and it turned out to be indigestion. Except last time the pain came and left on and off. This time I still have the pain 3 hours later (except its not as bad as the first couple of hours during this course). My pain is in my upper back(it feels as if its my lungs) and right in the middle of my chest. It's also on the side of my upper ribs. I finally ruled out a heart attack, being that so much time has passed. Could you tell me what the symptoms are for a heart attack in a woman, I'm 43 120lbs. The pain was constant for 3 hours. If it was a heart attack, doesn't it take you down to your knees, and doesnt it feel like its your heart and not the area around it?

The heart attack symptoms can vary quite widely, from just a slight pain that is easily ignored to the classical crushing chest pain that goes down the left arm, or through to the back. The only way to be sure is to see a doctor and be tested. You should probably see a cardiologist for a workup just to see if you have any underlying heart problems that could lead to an attack.

I know the med. you've been on is highly addictive and you could be having a withdrawal type reaction. On the addiction forum there are people that could help you. Any time you think you may be having a heart attack you should see a dr. Women in our age group do die from heart attacks because it's perceived we're to young. But only a cardiologist could tell you for certain. Visit the other forum and some of your questions may be answered there.

Its me again, Also, could these symptoms be from my doctor dropping me from xanax? Every since 2 weeks after the WTC terror, my medication wasn't really doing anything or the stress was to extream (my dosage was 0.25 mg one per day as needed)so I asked the nurse if they could increase the dosage. She said no and they couldn't fill my script anymore until they seen me. We'll that was around sept 20th but there was no appointment open till nov 5. I asked if she could fill my script till then and she said no. Are doctors suppose to just drop someone off medication after being on it more than a year? Could these emergency visits with chest pain be related to being dropped from my medication?
