Celexa - side effects?

I was wondering what exactly Celexa is and what side effects come with the medication.

I have a beautiful and very sexual wife.  Prior to Celexa we enjoyed what could only be described as an intimate wonderland.  We are both 42 and enjoyed each other as if we were in our twenties... then Celexa came into our lives.  I guess that I have to say that erectile disorder was more depressing to me than my depression!  Imagine, having a beautiful, uninhibited, enthusiastic partner and thinking, "If only I felt like I wanted her..."  Guilt and a feeling of being inadequate became my companions.  Sure, my depression was under control, but at what cost?  My doctor has prescribed Wellbutrin, which seems to work better for me.  Thank God that my wife was understanding and encouraging to me.  She was more than understanding and has stood by me.  With the Wellbutrin (which is new for me)we are not yet where we were, but the fear of holding this woman that I love dearly with no response has subsided.  I don't know how typical my experience was, but I am glad to be off Celexa.

     Celexa is a SSRI (serotonin selective reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant similar to Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac and Luvox.  It is indicated for the treatment of depression and anxiety.  Its mechanism of action is to primarily increase the bodys ability to utilize serotonin in the brain.  
      Side effects are similar to the other SSRI's: nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth and sexual dysfunction.  In general it is a well tolerated, non-addictive, safe and effective medication.  Please search this forums archive for further information on this topic.

Celexa is an anti-depressant and helps with anxiety and OCD. It can cause nervousness in some people. I have felt some nervousness and tightness in my throat but those symptoms may go away after a couple of weeks on it I was told by my psychiatrist.
