Xanax withdrawal symptoms

I've been tapering off of xanax from 1mg daily of the XR, now down to .125mg twice a day of the regular xanax.   I feel jittery midday - the mornings are the hardest and I feel better as the day goes on. I feel slightly confused at times, off balance, depressed and had two really bad headaches that woke me out of my sleep in the back of my head.  Does this all sound normal for tapering off syptoms?   It may not sound horrible, but it's hard to cope everyday at work etc.  I'm on my third week of tapering.

how long have you been taking xanax? Now, that you are tapering off, are you having to take any other medication to help with side effects of withdrawal?  What are some of the withdrawal symptoms that you had/have?

I have been tapering off from 1/2 mg 3 x per day.  I am now taking .25 mg once a day or less.  Your symptoms sound VERY familiar.  Hang in there it does get better!!

Yes, it does sound typical for this kind of withdrawal...xanax is the toughest drug to stop...keep at it.
