anxiety and musclw twitching

I suffer from anxiety, ocd and probably hypochandria. Anyway my left calf has always severly twitched nonstop for many years. I never tripped on it because i thought it might have been from an accident. 4 years ago i suffered a mini nervous breakdown. since then both of my calves twitch, both forearms twitch, toes thumbs you name it. it is constant. sometimes worse than other times. I have been tested over and over and they cant seem to come up with any answers other than anxiety might be ausing it. I am only on .5 mlg of klonapin. Anyone else suffer from muscle twotching because it drives me crazy. Just pictue lying in bed trying to relax and you feel and see your muscles twitching like crazy.  HELP

Ask your doctor about doubling your dose of klonopin for a few weeks to see if that helps.

You are not alone my friend. I was put on Zoloft and Xanax back in July. I stopped taking Zoloft in August because of all the side effects! I was taking the Xanax when needed up until about a week and a half ago then stopped that. While I was taking the medication I was having the twitching on and off. But, ever since I have stopped both of them I have had twitching all over the place and all day long and at night. It seems to be more at night then during the day. I can't take these garbage medications anymore! I have more anxiety now then before with all this twitching! The Xanax was nothing but sleeping pills for me. I couldn't do anything when I was on that stuff. Zoloft made me feel emotionless and depressed. Man, the doctors need to understand the effects of this stuff instead of just giving to everyone like vitamins.

You need to have an acetycholineserase (AchE) level test performed ASAP. Unfortunately, these days, when modical plans are run by people who send in box tops, it may not be covered and many physicians are unfamiliar with it. Muscle twitching is a yellow flag for this test.

You are not alone. Recently I have had alot of anxiety and had to be put on Zoloft. I dont know if it is a side effect of the medicine or if it is just the anxiety, but every night before falling asleep when I lay in bed I twitch alot. Sometimes I jump so much I think I feel like im gonna fall out of bed! Hope this makes you feel better...
