husband's anxiety

My husband had an anxiety attack about 6 months ago, and went to the hospital thinking he was going to die. Recently, whenever he isn't home he thinks something bad is going to happen to him. For example, the other day at work he thought someone would come up and shoot him in the back of the head. He also thinks that there is something that his family is hiding from him, but he doesn't know what. He also said he is having these odd random thoughts. He has never been violent or anything, but he is not sleeping well and scared all the time. we're waiting for his insurance to clear so he can go to a therapist. What type of therapy should he go to? Do you think this is social anxiety or something deeper?

Your husband should see a psychiatrist who can make the proper diagnosis, treat him with talk therapy and medications...that is the ideal doctor for your husband...

It doesn't sound like social anxiety to me.  Perhaps it is just a different way to present with it??
I thought of agoraphobia due to his feeling safe at home vs the work place.
I don't know.  It sounds like he may be becoming a little paranoid though.  Probably because of his anxiety (and lack of sleep).

I think the issues probably run much deeper.  (Issues are always deep).

The type of therapy would be dependent on the diagnosis.
