I HAVE SEVERE SYMPTOMS OF MENAPAUSE. A WEEK BEFORE I GET FLU-LIKE SYMTOMS, NERVES GET REALLY BAD. I VOMIT ALL THE TIME. I CANT SLEEP FOR DAYS AT A TIME. I NEED HELP IM ON PAXIL NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP. I CANT EAT EITHER. THIS GOES ON A WEEK BEFORE. ANYONE KNOW OR HAVE SAME SYMTOMS LET ME KNOW.
I have been on thyroid replacement therapy for the past two years. I stopped taking it....
What can happen to me? I noticed that I have started to lose some weight and then started getting mood swings and night sweats to a small degree.
I started back on the thyroid medicine and take it about 3 times a week instead of a daily dose. I hate taking medicine.
I heard you can go into a coma if you stop taking this. Is this true? If so, give me other sypmtoms or other problems that can occur. Please send me an answer asap!
Thankyou!
Tina
This is a mental health forum. Your questions will be better answered by your primary care physician or gynecologist who I will urge you to consult.
I agree with the other reply to go see your gynecologist. 39 is rather young to be going through menopause. There may be something else going on and you want to make sure this is normal. Are you sure you aren't pregnant? There is no rule thst 10 years after the last child menopause starts. It's age-related and every woman is different, so of course it's possible you're in menopause. But you may have a hormone imbalance caused by thyroid or other hormone-related issues which you should have checked out to be sure.
(1) Go see your gynecologist. He/she can put you on HRT to help your symptoms. (2) Try vitamin E or flax oil, plus calcium and magnesium supplements. (3) For some reason an anti-depressant helps menopause symptoms. I am on Paxil and HRT. I am so much better - I don't yell at everyone now and am much less edgy. Plus the symptoms have subsided. Even my migraines have almost stopped.
I am only 37 and have been going through menopause for about 4 years! I have had several hormone test done and they all point to menopause. I am currently having a lot of emotional problems everyone seems to think menopause related. I am taking HRT and Paxil, but haven't really noticed any difference in my anxiousness or crying spells. Good Luck.
