Depression

My sister who is 35 years is suffering from Depression from time to time and of course stress. I would like to know whether relaxation ie: Spa (using Jaccuzi, Sauna) and exercising in the Gym would help the medicines she takes and gradually becomes a new way of life for her?

Thank you,
ccea

I have never been an "exerciser" in any sense. but I've started walking as a last resort due to horrible panic and depression. i have friends who must run 3-4 miles a day because that is the only way to keep depression away. I started walking about 3 miles or for an hour. It is soooooo hard to get out there (only my husband and daughter can get me away from the tv) to do it.  but during and afterward the heart palps decrease and my sense of lonliness also decreases. I go to therapy (only twice so far) but one thing they drilled into my head was to go outside and just walk. I hope this helps. what a great sister you are!!
