i have never taken lexapro but have taken many other antidepressants and some of them have raised my blood pressure. did this just start right after taking this med? if it did it's probably the lexapro. i agree with above post that you might adapt to this med but if your blood pressure continues to be high then you might want to think about another med. take care. Lexapro is not associated with clinically significant changes in vital signs, including blood pressure. However, reaction to psychiatric medications is extremely subjective, including paradoxical reactions (tranquilizers sometimes cause agitation, for example).
If you have just started taking it, is is quite possible you will adapt over a couple of weeks.
I have high blood pressure and am a former Lexapro user. I do not recall Lexapro making it worse. Anecdotal information is the lowest form of data, however.
